Scrapbooking Memories More Masculine
Lisa Sutherland asked:
Pink ‘frillies’, lace and soft pastels are not hard to come by or imagine throughout a scrapbook
, but what about a page for males? Is it possible to hit a medium and have a page that displays memories in a more masculine way? It is and having a manlier book simply depends on layout, theme
, colors and other decorations that can spell testosterone. Though creative thoughts are generally geared more toward female layouts or a more feminine page it is possible to have a rough and tough scrapbook page to display that favorite guy, doing whatever it is that he loves the most.
It is obvious that colors can set the mood for just about anything and displaying photos is no different. While blues’, browns and darker colors are generally associated with a more masculine theme, this does not always have to be the case. There is no reason that lighter colors cannot be surrounded with objects or themes
associated with men to bring out that rougher side! Even sprucing up lighter colors with darker backgrounds, manly objects or borders can add that hint of masculinity to satisfy that need for a manlier page.
Adding cut outs or other objects that signify that gender stereotype will also add a more masculine piece. For most men the idea of tools, cars, racing, hunting and sports is the key to any timely piece of art. There is no better way to tell a story or remember a particular photo or moment than with decorations that fill in the details. These special pieces not only finish the page, but also make a wonderfully designed memory book.
